Discipline Plan

I am changing up our discipline plan just a little.  First, instead of the yellow card meaning 5 minutes off of snack it will mean "teacher's choice."  This could still be 5 minutes off of snack, silent lunch, etc.  Also, if a student's card has stayed on green all week we will have a Friday surprise.  I will need your help with this.  I am going to assign each of you to a week to do Friday surprises.  Everyone will do 2 weeks. If there are extra weeks, I will bring the Friday surprise for those.  Friday surprises can be anything, a pencil, popsicle, small toy, etc.  Pretty much anything from the Dollar Tree would be fine.  We have 5 boys and 11 girls. Any extras will be placed in our treasure chest. I will do this Friday's surprise.  Thank you for your help with this.

Lunch Cards

You can now load money onto your child's lunch card with Paypal by going to www.pepifoods.com

I need to know how much money you load on your child's card.  It is a lot easier for me to know if they have money or not.  Several have tried to use the card to buy ice cream, but cannot if there is no money loaded on.  We have only had a couple students ordering each week, so, I did not pass out lunch forms last Friday. To save paper, if your child will be ordering, please write it on a slip of paper and send in a ziploc bag.  This includes ice cream purchase.  You can still send cash if you do not want to load on the card.

Science

We will take our first science test tomorrow.  Your child will be bringing home their science notebook tonight to study.

PE

Please make sure your child is wearing tennis shoes to school for PE.

Field Trip #2

We are going to the Shakespeare Festival on January 24 to see Goodnight Moon.  We had to reserve tickets early because they always sale out quickly.  The cost is $16 for students and $18 for parents. We need 4 parent volunteers to go on this trip.  I will take the first 4 I hear from.  I will be asking for the money in the next few weeks, please do not send yet.  The sooner we pay, the better seats we get.  I will post more information about departure time and lunch plans closer to the actual trip.

Field Trip

We are making plans for our first field trip.  It will be November 20.  We are going to Living History Week at Landmark Park in Dothan.  They ask that we do not bring parents.  We will need 4 drivers for our class.  The drivers will drop us off at the park and come back and pick us up.  This could be an excellent opportunity to get some Christmas shopping done.  I know it is a few months away, but I told the kids about it yesterday, so I wanted to go ahead and post.  If you would like to go on this trip you can email me or send a note.  I will take the first 4 drivers I hear from.

Welcome

I am so excited to start the new school year with this great group of kids! I know we are going to have an awesome year! There are a few things I would like to remind you of: *Please return all forms together in the blue folder. *Please send the large lunch card and the keychain sized card back to school. Your child will need a lanyard with an i.d. holder to keep the large card in. I think Dollar Tree has these. I will keep the keychain card in my desk in case the other is misplaced. *Remember to wear tennis shoes to school in the morning. They may change shoes after P.E. *Homework and test schedule will be listed under the homework tab of the blog. If you have any questions please feel free to email me at acampbell@pikelib.com.
